Gruha Pravesham Pooja
Gruha Pravesham Pooja is the rite of entering a new home for the first time, performed at the muhurtham chosen for it. In most Telugu practice it opens with Ganapathi Pooja and the boiling-over of milk on the new stove, and its core is Vastu Shanti — the pacification of the house itself — followed by a homam and the family's first meal under the roof.

When is Gruha Pravesham Pooja performed?
Performed once, on the day of first entry, whether the house is newly built, newly bought or newly rented. Families also arrange it after a long vacancy or a major renovation, and some repeat a shorter form on returning after an extended absence.
The date, duration and sequence can vary by sampradaya, family custom and the sankalpam taken. Confirm these details with the Pandit before making arrangements.
